Save the Children‘s mission is to make lasting, positive change in the lives of disadvantaged children. It was founded in the U.S. in 1932, and remains the only anti-poverty group of its size that does not have any political or religous affiliations. Save the Children field staff provide education, nutrition and healthcare through community-based programs in 137 countries and, for 2008, put 94% of all expenditures toward program services. Grassroots Campaigns canvassers working in 18 cities nationwide, have recruited caring people to sponsor children since 2007.
